How to Properly Clean a Driveway or Sidewalk on Your Property

Are you thinking about cleaning the driveway or sidewalk to maintain the curb appeal of your property? Here are some tips to keep the driveway or sidewalk good as new.

Cleaning your driveway and sidewalk may not often be a top cleaning priority for you, but it is an essential part of your home’s general maintenance. To maintain the curb appeal of your home’s exterior, you should do the cleaning twice a year. With proper equipment and technique, you can clean up all the stains and dirt from the sidewalk. Here are some simple steps that you can use to clean your driveway or sidewalk with a pressure washer:

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is to lay down some drop cloths or tarps to protect your driveway. You can also use an old sheet if you want.

Step 2:

The second thing you need to do is to get your pressure washer ready. I recommend that you hook it up to a water hose with a spray wand and an extension hose. Make sure that the water pressure is turned on and that the hose is running.

Step 3:

The third step you need to do is to start washing the driveway. For most driveways, you will want to start at the top. You can either start at the front and work your way around or start at the back and work your way around.

Step 4:

The fourth thing you need to do is to make your way down the driveway. Make sure to cover the entire driveway and dont forget about the entire surface.

Step 5:

The last thing you need to do is to rinse your driveway. This will ensure that all of the soap and dirt is removed. Using a water hose is the easiest way to do this.

Extra Tip:

If you notice some stubborn areas, you might want to use a pressure washer nozzle that has a high PSI and a low GPM. This will allow you to remove any areas that are tough to clean.
